If you are a fan of the popular video game series Kirby, then the Kirby Cafe in Tokyo is a must-visit destination. This adorable cafe is dedicated to all things Kirby and is the perfect spot to enjoy a meal while surrounded by your favorite characters.

But first things first – if you would like to visit the Kirby Café, you have to make sure to get a reservation. The Kirby Cafe is one of the most popular themed cafe in Japan and slots fill up very quickly! The reservation form will be refreshed every 10th of the month for the following month – at 18:00 Japan time. So for my booking in October, I prepared my laptop and mobile phone on September 10th. When the clock hit 11am (Swiss time), it took a considerable amount of time to select a date and time slot on the page… This wait brought back memories of when we were trying to secure tickets for Tomorrowland lol! Last but not least, stay patient and ensure that you have pre-planned your desired date and time slot in advance of your booking.

The Kirby Café is located in Solamachi, Tokyo, near the iconic Tokyo Skytree. I arrived shortly before opening time (I booked the slot at 10am). I was warmly welcomed by a friendly waitress who escorted me to my table. The cafe’s interior was designed to look like the world of Kirby, featuring colorful and playful decorations inspired by the game. The walls were adorned with Kirby and his friends, creating a fun and immersive atmosphere. The food at the Kirby Café was just as delightful as its whimsical interior. The menu features a range of dishes inspired by the iconic character, including pizza, burgers, desserts, and drinks. Each dish is not only delicious, but also beautifully presented, making dining at the café a truly special experience. I ordered a Kirby burger (could not resist the cute pink Kirby bun) and a colourful non-alcoholic cocktail. My meal was rounded off with a delightful Kirby parfait and a comforting latte.

From the charming interior to the playful menu, everything about the café was designed to bring the magic of Kirby to life. The friendly service, delicious food and joyful ambiance all came together to create a truly one-of-a-kind dining experience. Whether you’re a long-time fan of Kirby or just looking for a fun and unique cafe, the Kirby Cafe is sure to exceed your expectations and leave you with lasting memories.

PS. Upon leaving the Kirby Cafe, you and your purse must brave the souvenir shop to survive the temptation of all the adorable Kirby merchandise!
