Kumachan Onsen – a Review of Shibuya’s adorable Hot Pot Restaurant

I visited a hot pot restaurant in Shibuya and it was an unforgettable culinary experience! The Kumachan Onsen is known and very popular for its super adorable teddy bear hot pot dishes that not only taste delicious but also look visually stunning. I have seen so many Instagram posts over the past few years, so as you can imagine, this place was on my bucket list for quite a long time. I booked a table in the evening (online reservation recommended!) on the same day when I arrived in Shibuya. My hotel was only a short walk from the restaurant.

The interior of the restaurant was beautifully designed, with warm lighting, cute teddy bears and Instagram worthy elements. The menu offered a wide variety of ingredients to choose from, including meats and lots of different vegetables, that comes in unique presentations. The hot pot restaurant offers an array of delicious and colourful broth options. There is always a seasonal broth that change with the times. I went for the chicken collagen broth (a girl’s best friend) and the recommended mixed meat/veggy set. The staff will bring you a super cute teddy bear made of soup stock with an edible towel on the top of his head. As soon as you turn on the stove, you can watch your Instagram Star enjoying his ‘hot spring bath’ and melting into a delicious soup. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the overall taste of the hot pot was delicious and satisfying. The service was also excellent, with attentive staff and a friendly atmosphere.

If you are looking for a unique dining experience in Tokyo, look no further than the Kumachan Onsen Hot Pot restaurant in Shibuya! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and Instagram worthy Japanese hot pot experience.
