365 Days of Happiness by Jacqueline Pirtle

Hello Loves,

Are you happy right now? Such a simple and incredibly important and valuable question, but have you ever asked this question to yourself? In 365 Days of Happiness, Jacqueline Pirtle inspires you with daily encouragement to live a happy life and also reminds of the little things and to pay attention to them, to improve your day. She gives you nice tips and a huge amount of imaginations, starting like this;

– Imagine sticking a spoon of honey into your mouth. Close your eyes and taste its sweetness. Feel this!

– Imagine a colourful, super-sized balloon that you get to fill with all your wishes, dreams and desires!

– Imagine yourself smiling while jumping on a trampoline. Hear yourself laughing, feel how happy and silly you are, and think of how jumping energizes your body, mind, soul and consciousness.

– Imagine that you get to pick a super-power! What will it be?

– Imagine your own happiness garden! What does it look and feel like? What people, animals and situations fit in your happiness garden?

The book is full of interesting details, which encourages the positive thinking. I like the “Day” chapters in the book, because they are simple to read and understand and you do not necessary have to read the book in order. You can actually pick one randomly, each chapter is packed with positive wisdom and words of encouragement and empowerment.

Sometimes I felt there was not enough depth, however it is a great book with lots of ideas. I wouldn’t say that it changed my life completely, but is a nice read, which reminds yourself to be happy. It gives you practical hints to develop your own happiness. All in all, it is a great book for any occasion. You can read it while commuting to work, on holidays or just before going to bed.

From now on, I try to think at least one of the 365 inspirations of Jacqueline even if I am not in a mood to smile. My favourite sentence is “This is already and will be the best day ever!”. I often forget it, but my lovely BF reminds me of these important words and especially when I am grumpy, he tells me that it is “the best day ever”, which instantly makes me smile. The book is “nice to have” as a good daily reminder in tough times.
