Did you know that Pompompurin is a golden retriever with a brown beret? I just read about it, while I was writing this blog post. I never thought that this boy is a dog?! At least I know that it is a famous Sanrio character and there are several cafés in Japan. I visited the themed café in Umeda, Osaka together with my little sister. We were on our way to the HEP Five shopping mall and the Pokémon Center – both are located in Umeda. I ordered a Pompompurin burger and my sister went for a Ochazuke (Japanese dish made by pouring green tea, dashi or hot water over cooked rice). The burger was good, but I will never forget that the decoration (face) was made out of chocolate, so it tasted quite special. I am the person who doesn’t like fruits in a salty dish, so chocolate was quite at the limit. Anyhow, the food looked super cute – as any themed cafés in Japan. Ah and not to forget their price. Themed restaurants are quite pricy compared to ordinary restaurants. You will pay easily up to 750 Yen and more for just a drink! However, it’s always a great experience and atmosphere visiting a themed restaurant in Japan.
