Maldives: Maldivian Cuisine

Beside the relaxation, food takes an important part in my holiday! I love eating (especially sweets lol) and I always like to try the specialities of the country. I can’t say that they had something typical ‘Maldivian’ on the island, but the seafood was very very good. At the Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort, you could choose between different à la cart restaurants (Japanese, Thai, Italian and American) or the buffet restaurants. On special days you could enjoy a rich BBQ or hamburger party and at the buffet restaurants, they did a little fire show every day, which was very amusing. The breakfast was heavenly with an exceptional variety of bread, cupcakes, fresh fruits, salad and other delicious morning treats. Regarding beverage… I will never forget that I had the most expensive Evian bottle in my life on the Maldives! Even if we had full-pension, the beverage was not included (expect for breakfast) and a bottle of Evian cost us around 14 dollars (compared to Switzerland one bottle is around 1 dollar). Anyway, good service and excellent holidays has its price.
