Hello dear readers!

Shopping. Eating. Entertainment. After the three-year construction period, the “Mall of Switzerland” finally opened its door last Autumn 2017. It is now one of the biggest shopping mall in Switzerland. I still don’t understand why they build this huge building at a place like Ebikon (a municipality in the district of Lucerne), anyhow, I have been there some weeks ago. The mall is very modern and you can benefit from free Wifi, lockers and coat check, mobile phone charging stations and (free) home delivery services. There is a food corner, where you can enjoy Asian or Italian food, burgers & steak and yeah… Mc Donald’s. If you have small kiddies, there is a childcare and a nice playground for kids. You can get to the mall easily by train (station Buchrain) or bus 23 or 111 (station Fildern).

So we went on a Saturday and there were less people than I expected. Before we went “shopping” we had a coffee break at Joe & the Juice. The shopping mall had four floors, but the shops were a bit disappointing. Bershka, H&M, C&A, Mango, Snipes, Foot Locker, New Yorker, Metro… If you ask me, these are almost standard shops, where you can find in the next surrounding area. The food was ok (we went to the restaurant Asia Number One) and I liked the interactive elements around the shopping mall, for example the huge piano or the digital zoo (you can hear animal sounds by pressing the button). All in all, it was interesting to have a look there, but I don’t think that the Mall of Switzerland would be my first choice when I would like to go shopping.
