Maid Cafe | @Home Cafe Akihabara

MaidCafeAkiba_

Hello Cuties! ♥

Let’s continue with my experiences at the maid cafe in Akihabara. As I told you, it was my big wish to visit a “Meido Cafe” メイドカフェ! By the way, my passion for Lolitas and kawaii (Maid) Cosplays started just because of this! I have actually no idea why I got into maid cafes & co…. perhaps I saw it on TV? in Mangas? or maybe accidentally on the internet? Wherever it was, I’m happy that I got into this world ^_^

Thanks to the Japanese TV programme “YOU wa Nanishini Nippon e” (YOUは何しに日本へ?) I already knew to which maid cafe I wanted to go: the @Home Cafe @ほぉ~むカフェ in Akihabara (You will find the relating video at the end of this blog post). I have never been to a maid cafe before… so I was a bit unsure, if I really should go there on my own. Even though my (male) friends were a fan of the maid cafes, I still had questions like are there only creepy old men at the cafe? Is it normal that a girl visit a maid cafe???! Nevertheless, I dared to take a step into the maid cafe! The @Home Cafe was very near from the Akiba train station and I could already see their big advertisement near the famous SEGA store. I went up to the 6th floor (6F) – don’t ask me why *lol* – and  as soon as I entered the cafe, the kawaii maids warmly welcomed me with a “Okaerinasaimase Ojou-sama!” お帰りなさいませ、お嬢様 which means welcome home, Mistress. (If you are a man, they would say; okaerinasaimase Goshujin-sama! お帰りなさいませ、ご主人様 = welcome home, Master). The cafe was lovely furnished and the maid girls take good care of me. I noticed that I wasn’t the only female customer! Some girls were chatting just as if they were in an ordinary cafe. I also saw a Gaijin (foreigners) couple coming in later. However, there were still a lot of male customers at the cafe ^.^

Since it was my first time there, the sweet maid explained me the offerings of the @Home Cafe. I could choose individually from the menu or order a set menu. I recommend you the second option, cause it is more favorable and you can additionally make a souvenir photo with the maid of your choice. I picked the dessert set on my first day at the cafe and the second time I took the food set. Many people say that it is quite expensive to go to a maid cafe. Well, you have to pay the set menu for example, in my case it cost about 1200~1900 yen (9~15$) and you also have to calculate the entrance fee for one hour, which costs 600 yen for an adult. And some just find the maids crazy, cause they sometimes have a childish behavior. Ok, you have to say funny words like *moe moe kyun* or swing a magical stick before you can drink or eat your food – but I don’t think that this is awkward? This actually makes really fun xD Whatever people think, for me, it was worth it! The food was veeery delicious and adorable, the girls were absolutely kawaiiii and nice. I had a really great time there and I can’t wait to meet the girls again soon (((((●´З`)ノノノキャーッ♪

  1. Just wanted to ask- so if you order the ‘set menu’, does that mean that the picture is then free? I’ve checked this cafe via some other websites and they had to pay (but I’m not sure if they ordered a set or not).
