The Shibuya Scramble Square opened in November 2019 together with Shibuya’s new 360-degree observation deck SHIBUYA SKY. I did not plan to visit the observatory at first, but now I am happy I did it.
The observation deck is on the 14th floor of the Shibuya Scramble Square. The department store is directly connected to Shibuya station, so you will not miss it. Tickets are cheaper if you buy them online, so make sure to purchase your ticket in advance. Shibuya Sky has three levels:
SKY GATE: a transition space from the 14F to the 45F
SKY STAGE: an outdoor observation space on the rooftop
SKY GALLERY: an indoor observation corridor on the 46F
For safety reasons, you have to put your luggage into lockers (100 yen required, which will be returned after use), before visiting the rooftop. Of course, you can take your phone and camera with you. The escalator will take you to the highest level, where a spectacular endless view opens! The skyline at night was amazing and my favourite direction was the corner with the view of the popular Tokyo Tower!
