Welcome to Japan’s second largest city with a population of > 3 Mio: Yokohama! I have never been to Yokohama before, so I was excited for a small day trip outside of Tokyo city. From our hotel, we had around half an hour by train to Yokohama main station. This beautiful city lies by the sea – did you know that Yokohama’s port was one of the first to be opened to foreign trade back in the 19th century? It also has the largest Chinatown of Japan. Our trip was more or less very spontaneous, so we didn’t do anything special than shopping and having a long walk along the bay. We had breakfast at a small Café in the Landmark Plaza shopping mall (there is also a Jump Shop, if you like Tokyo Ghoul, One Piece & Co.), before we went to the Pokémon Center Yokohama, which is located in the Marui City mall, just next to Sogo mall. There are many more things that you can do in this area, so if you are planning a trip to Yokohama, I hope the list below will help to give you some ideas.
