Japan Adventure: Tokyo Character Street, Pokémon Center & Café

My family trip in Tottori came to an end, signaling the close of one adventure and the start of a new one. Now, I found myself on the way to my next destination: the bustling heart of Tokyo, where the vibrant energy of the city awaited me.

After a swift flight, I landed at Tokyo Haneda Airport and seamlessly navigated my way to the train station. Jumping on the train to Shibuya, I was super excited for the adventures coming my way. As the train glided through the urban landscape, I marveled at the iconic skyline that came into view, signaling my arrival in Tokyo.

My hotel, conveniently situated a short 5 minutes walk from the iconic Shibuya Crossing, provided the perfect base for my Tokyo exploration. However, wasting no time, I headed straight to Tokyo Station, as I was super excited to explore the Tokyo Character Street! Located underground on floor B1 (First Avenue Tokyo Station), the Tokyo Character Street is a haven for enthusiasts like me, featuring over 30 stores dedicated to beloved characters such as Ghibli, Rilakkuma, One Piece, Pokémon and more. I was thrilled about checking out the new Mofusand Store. The captivating illustration series, created by Japanese artist Juno, features cats and animals dressed in charming outfits, gaining worldwide popularity and sparking trends across social media platforms. I was also very excited about the Kirby Café Petit, where they had both Kirby merchandise and delicious treats inspired by the beloved character.

I spent a good amount of time at Tokyo Character Street. Everything there was so tempting! While I walked through the different stores, I couldn’t help but buy a lot of cute character stuff. I mean, who can resist these adorable things?! Carrying a bunch of bags, I happily headed to the Pokémon Center Tokyo DX, excited to see what they had. The place was filled with Pokémon goodies and an vide range of cute plush toys. It felt great to be back and I couldn’t resist picking up more souvenirs for myself lol.

As the day unfolded, the highlight awaited me at the Pokémon Café. With a dinner reservation scheduled for 20:35, strategically aligned with my Character Street exploration, I entered a world where Pokemon-themed treats and Pikachu himself took center stage. The ambiance was electric, with Pikachu dancing to enchant the diners. While themed cafes in Tokyo tend to be on the pricier side, the experience was undeniably worth every Yen spent. The culinary delights, coupled with the immersive atmosphere, transported me into the captivating world of Pokémon!

What a day! It was all about cute characters and fun. And guess what? That was just the beginning. Stay tuned for more Tokyo adventures!
