If you have ever dreamt of a fairytale-like Afternoon Tea – your dream comes true at the Kona Restaurant (Taj Hotel)! They offer a lovely ‘Alice in Wonderland’-themed Afternoon Tea. I also remember that they had a cool ‘Sherlock Holmes’ Afternoon Tea, but looking at the menu today, they changed it to the Jasmine Indian Afternoon Tea and there is one more theme called the Candy Striped Carousel Afternoon Tea. From Victoria station, it is only a 10 minutes’ walk to the restaurant. A reservation in advance is necessary, so I recommend you to do it online (just check out the link below).

When we arrived at the restaurant, the table was warmly decorated and we suddenly felt like being at the Tea Party of Alice. We could choose from different teas before we could start the party with tasty cucumber, cream cheese, tomato, curry and tuna mayonnaise sandwiches. In the next step, they surprised us with sweet treatments and pastries inspired by characters and quirks from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The ‘Queen of Hearts’ mango tarts, ‘Drink Me’ strawberry potion, ‘Caterpillar’s Mushroom’ raspberry marshmallows and the pocket watch macaroons were all part of it. You won’t believe me, but at the end of the tea party, we all had a sugar shock!! It was definitely a special Afternoon Tea, which made me grinning like the Cheshire Cat. I can’t wait to experience another themed Afternoon Tea at the Kona restaurant.
