Spring in Japan: Osaka

When you are staying in Kyoto anyway, I recommend you to visit Osaka (or vice versa). I love to stay near the Dotonbori/Shinsaibashi, the popular shopping destination in Osaka. They also have nice bars and restaurants in this area. My favourite hotel there is the Hotel Sunroute Osaka Namba. It is close to the street, not far away from Namba main station or the undergrounds and it is close to my favourite Udon restaurant (Tsurutontan). So what can you do in Osaka? Well, I recommend you to try the specialities like Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki, visit the beautiful Osaka castle or go shopping at Shinsaibashi or at the HEP FIVE shopping mall. If you want to have fun, you need to plan a day at the Universal Studios Japan. The Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is for young and old – after the visit, do not forget to have a look at the Tempozan Market Place, it is just next to the aquarium. When Pokémon was part of your childhood, you need to visit the Pokémon Center for sure. There are also a lot of nice gardens, temples and shrines like in all areas of Japan. It will never get boring in Osaka ^_^
