On Saturday, June 8, my best friend and I attended the LuCon (Luzerner Convention) in Lucerne, the first convention of its kind in our region. And it was my first time visiting LuCon! Although I was not in a specific cosplay, I wore my favourite Chopper shoes from Skechers paired with a matching blue and pink outfit.
The venue was cozy, almost too cozy for a convention, haha! I had hoped for a larger space given the price of the tickets, but it is a start and I am happy that we finally have an event like this nearby. Conventions need time to grow and develop, and this was a promising beginning.
Inside, the hall was buzzing with excitement despite its small size. There were a few food stands and I couldn’t resist getting some bubble tea and Taiyaki from Lucky Cat. For lunch, we shared a delicious Karaage and Onigiri set from Wakara. The food alone made the trip worthwhile!
The exhibit area was filled with artist stands showcasing beautiful handmade creations. I loved seeing the passion and creativity on display. There were also areas where you could play board games, buy various merchandise and even get a tattoo right there at the convention. Several cosplay stands added to the vibrant atmosphere and it was inspiring to see so many dedicated cosplayers in their intricate costumes.
Overall, while the convention was smaller than I expected, the experience was enjoyable. It is exciting to have a convention in Lucerne, and I look forward to seeing how it evolves in the coming years!
