Highlights of 2025

“You will never have this day again, so make it count!”

Here we are again – my blog post about my highlights this year. Unbelievable. Time just flies by so fast.

This year was a mix of highs and lows. The first half, in particular, was extremely challenging – both on a personal level and at work. I am incredibly grateful for the friends who were around me during that time and who were always there for me. My trip to Japan in spring did me an incredible amount of good and at Izumo Shrine I was able to let go of and close so many things. Since then, I have simply been happy – grateful for my family, my friends and the little things in life.

Looking back, I experienced so much and traveled a lot again. I went to Tunisia with a good friend and had an amazing beach holiday. In New York, I visited my former coworker and shared many beautiful moments. In autumn, I went on my big Asia trip to Hong Kong, the long-awaited Taiwan, with a short stop in Tokyo. I reconnected with many friends along the way.

Lately, I have been enjoying time with my friends immensely and have also met new people. I had an incredible girls’ trip with a friend I have not known for that long. I am taking better care of myself, I am totally into fashion (again) and I am trying new things – life would be boring otherwise. I care less about outside opinions and more about enjoying the process of experimenting.

Fantasy Basel was exciting as always. This year was also very chocolate-heavy: I did a Dubai chocolate workshop at Lindt – it was amazing – and went to Gruyère with my sister and friends to visit the Cailler Museum and the Giger Museum. It was a lot of fun.

Concert-wise, I went to a Kunz concert (after they had supposedly taken a break). Yes, Swiss German is not really my thing, but Kunz are just great – the music makes me so happy. Babymetal were back in Switzerland and went all out. The last time I had seen them live must have been almost ten years ago?

My blog celebrated its 15th anniversary this year. Without you, I definitely would not be where I am today. Thank you for accompanying me on this journey for so long.

The biggest personal change for me this year – and one of my highlights – was getting my eyes lasered. Who would have thought I would ever take that step? I was so scared, haha. I felt like I had all the side effects: light sensitivity, eyes that looked like a vampire’s, headaches, sleep problems. But in the end, it was absolutely worth it. I don’t think I have ever been this happy to see 100%. No lenses, no glasses – a quality of life you can’t imagine. And I would definitely do it again, even though it was a bit like hell.

Lately, I appreciate simple things so much more. I share what I want to say because life is unpredictable, and I don’t want a single moment left unspoken. My goal is to give my all and hold close what truly matters. No regrets. You forget these things far too quickly, which makes me want to remember them even more.

I can tell that 2026 won’t be easy, but it also promises to be a truly great year. I can feel it coming. I couldn’t be happier. Dear universe, thank you for everything – I am ready for what’s next. ✨

My personal goals for 2026 – gentle reminders of what truly matters:

  • Dry January… hihi
  • To be grateful for every single day
  • Really value and enjoy the time I spend with the friends I already have, including the new friendship I recently formed
  • To give my best at work and appreciate my amazing teammates – let’s make it a truly unforgettable year
  • Say yes to new experiences
  • To notice and value the small things in everyday life
  • Focus on blogging more, reading regularly and keeping up with my penpal correspondence.
  • To make every moment count
  • Laugh more, worry less
  • Value time.
  • And most importantly: to bee happy 🐝✨
